Harvard Women Shock Brown, 57-7

After their 10-5 loss to Dartmouth the week before, everyone was interested to see how Harvard's Women's Rugby Club would perform during their match against a powerful Brown squad. After the clock ended with Harvard up 57-7, everyone got their answer: Harvard should not be taken lightly. The Crimson came out firing on all cylinders Saturday, putting 26 points on the board before half while only allowing one try to the Big Green.

Dartmouth Women Outlast Princeton, 7-5

The Dartmouth and Princeton Women's teams both came into this past Saturday's match with expectations of a tough, brutal game decided by defense. Neither team could have imagined just how accurate those expectations would be. Featuring a second half completely devoid of scoring by either team and some of the best defensive play either division of the Ivy Rugby Conference has seen this year, the match between Dartmouth and Princeton ended in the Big Green's favor, 7-5.

Cornell Women Over Penn 87-5

The Penn Women's Rugby Club, coming off of an impressive 67-22 win over Yale, traveled to Ithaca this past Saturday to face a formidable Cornell team that dispatched Columbia 90-0 the week before week. In what seemed bound to be a high-scoring affair, didn't disappoint. Though it was Cornell's defense that also surprised the traveling Penn side.

Cornell defeated Penn 87-5.

Dartmouth Men Turn In Strong Performance Against Harvard, Win 57-7

Dartmouth traveled to Cambridge this weekend for their second meeting with Harvard.  The Crimson had proved to be Dartmouth’s stiffest league competition this year, playing the Big Green close in the first match of the season in Hanover. Knowing the Crimson to be a tough and worthy opponent, Dartmouth went into the match looking to improve from their first meeting.  The Big Green established control early and didn’t look back on their way to a 57-7 victory.

Cornell Men Continue Winning Streak, Beat Princeton

Cornell has been the team to beat in the Ivy Rugby Conference's Southern Division this fall, and after their 33-12 win over Princeton this past Saturday it doesn't look like that's about to change anytime soon. Don't let the 21-point margin of victory fool you, however - Princeton played tough all game, and stymied the Cornell offense for much of the first half of play.

Penn Men Win a Thriller Over Columbia

In arguably the most exciting match of the Ivy Rugby Conference season, the Penn Men's Rugby Club was able to pull out a thriller at home over Columbia. The action went back and forth all day - every time Columbia scored, Penn was able to respond quickly with a score of their own. This back and forth led the score to be 22-21 going into the final minutes of play. It was looking as though that might be the final score when was able to break the Columbia defense near the end of regulation for a try to put them up 26-22. The win was huge for Penn.

Brown Men Overcome Yale in Tough Match

Brown and Yale, having sustained injuries to key players, faced off on Saturday in a must win match for both programs. Brown’s victory on the day was not pretty, but the Bears dug deep on defense to hold the determined Yale offense to one second half try after Yale’s intercepted pass in the first two minutes of the match.

Columbia Women Over Yale

The Columbia Women's Rugby Team visited Yale this past Sunday in a battle of teams looking for their first wins of the season. Both Yale and Columbia had a tough start to their seasons - Yale has lost their first two games by a combined score of 151-22, while Columbia has lost their first two games by a combined score of 195-0. Needless to say, both teams were looking forward to this match as an opportunity to get their seasons back on track and build confidence going into the rest of the Fall 2013 season.

Columbia Women defeated Yale Women 33-15.

Cornell Women Rout Columbia, 90-0

The Cornell Women's Rugby Club played host to Columbia this past weekend on a beautiful Saturday morning in Ithaca. In a game that featured an offensive explosion by the Big Red, Cornell took an early lead and didn't look back, keeping their foot on the gas pedal for the length of the match to finish with a 90-0 victory.
