Princeton Wins 21-15 in Close Contest

On a beautiful autumn day the Princeton University Tigers and the University of Pennsylvania Quakers squared off in a rematch on West Windsor Field in Princeton.

Big Green WINS Ivy Rugby North Division!

Three weeks ago in Hanover, Brown was able to come from behind and tie Dartmouth in a 23-23 stalemate. Dartmouth Rugby refused to allow this to happen again, and payback was served Saturday on a sloppy field in Providence. Captain Michael Burbank ’13 called it  “the most complete game of rugby that we’ve played all season.” Dartmouth won with a final score of 28-5, securing the Ivy League Rugby North Division regular season title in the process.

Penn Beats Columbia in the Lions Den

Columbia falls to Penn at Randall's Island, NY with the final score 50-21. Coming off a close and hard fought match in Philadelphia, both the University of Pennsylvania Quakers and the Columbia University Lions looked for a decisive victory in their rematch at Randall’s Island.

Tigers Prove Too Strong For Cornell

The Princeton men traveled to Ithaca, New York in cold weather to play Cornell for the second time in two weeks. Cornell, with last week’s game behind them, sought to reverse the outcome of last Saturday.

Columbia Men Defeat Cornell 20-12

Cornell Men hosted Columbia University in its Ivy League home opener last Saturday. After a morning of consistent rain two hours prior, the weather cleared up in time for the noon kick-off. The Columbia side captured the win with the help of their stout defense 20-12.

Capitalizing on a flurry of early penalties, defensive mis-cues, and spilt ball Princeton Rugby shot out to an early lead in the match between the Tigers and the Quakers in their first fall match. Buoyed by strong running from their backline as well as well timed off-loads, Princeton opened the scoring. They quickly followed with another backline driven try. With two successful conversions the Tigers staked themselves to an early 14-0 lead. 

Brown Men Defeat Harvard 55-5

Brown exploded with 35 unanswered second half points to overwhelm Harvard 55-5 for its fourth successive fall 2012 victory. With the Brown-Harvard football game being played across the street at 4:30 P.M., a festive Brown tailgate crowd joined the Brown Rugby faithful and cheered on the Bears on a picture perfect fall day.

Brown Bears Blank Bulldogs

The First XV Brown played a solid match defeating a young Yale First XV on a sunny late summer Saturday afternoon. In the second side match, Yale defeated Brown 15-5. Though Brown's 2nd XV was defeated, the Brown coaching staff is impressed by the intensity of numbers of their freshman class.

The Big Green Take Down Crimson 60-0

Dartmouth hosted rival Harvard on the bucolic Brophy Field to kick off the 2012-13 Ivy Rugby 15s season. It proved to be an excellent start to the season for the Big Green, who did well on both sides of the ball, shutting out the Crimson while putting up 60 points on attack.

Dartmouth Stars Shine for National Teams

After Dartmouth Rugby took home the USA 7s Collegiate Rugby Championship and made a deep run to the DI-AA Final 4 in 15s this past season, two Big Green stars are getting an opportunity to showcase their skills on an international stage.
