Columbia Downs Syracuse 53-33

Ivy Rugby Conference 15s third-place and 7s runner-up Columbia defeated visiting NY State runner-up #19 Syracuse 53-33 at the Columbia University soccer stadium Saturday afternoon, with the Lions' best all-around performance of the season.

1st XV Dartmouth Men at Caymen National Men

Dartmouth Rugby wrapped up its spring tour to the Cayman Islands Saturday night by beating the Cayman National team for the second time in a week, this time by a score of 28-18. Despite the margin of victory, the local side gave another tremendous effort, holding onto the lead for much of the game. But as was the case throughout the tour, Dartmouth proved to be the better team in the final 20 minutes, making another late comeback to secure the win and a perfect record for the 1st XV on the trip.

1st XV Dartmouth Men at Cayman Selects

Playing in the second match of their spring tour to the Cayman Islands, the Dartmouth Rugby 1st XV found themselves in another dogfight against the Cayman Selects side Tuesday night. After beating the 2nd XV Saturday the local side was expected to be a strong opponent and by no means did they disappoint, going up 27-25 with under 15 minutes left in the game. But thanks to late push in which they scored 17 points in the final 10 minutes, the Big Green were able to pull out the win.

1st XV Dartmouth Men at Caymen National Men

In the first match of their spring tour, the Dartmouth Rugby 1st XV won a hard-earned victory against the Cayman Islands national team on their home turf, beating their hosts by a score of 29-25. Playing in their first match without head coach Alexander Magleby, who was away fulfilling his duties as coach of the USA Eagles at the Hong Kong 7s, the Big Green raced out to an early lead before having to withstand a spirited comeback from their opponents. Backed by several great individual performances however, the team was able to hold out for the win.

Vassar Battles Ivy League Columbia To 15-15 Tie

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY -- In a game that bore witness to both teams playing some ferocious defense and with plenty of attacking options on display up front and in the back divisions, the spectators enjoyed a thrilling contest. Columbia seemed to have the edge in terms of size and weight but one might have been forgiven for thinking that it was Vassar who led in that department judging by the excellent tackling.
