Elite Eight for Underdog Yale
For the first time, Yale Rugby have qualified for the D1AA National Championship quarter finals in Pittsburgh. The Bulldogs will play against West Virginia on the weekend of April 25-26.
After the semifinal win against Cornell, Yale faced a tough Brown side in the playoff final. In a match that could of gone either way, a final score of 18-13 means all roads lead to Pittsburgh for the Bulldogs.

In Hanover, NH, Navy escaped with a 23-22 victory over Dartmouth. In a game that saw several lead changes, Navy managed to get the final blow, earning them a date with Clemson in the round of eight.
With both sides coming off recent matches, Dartmouth against St. Mary’s and Navy against Clemson, the stage was set for a physical and fast paced contest. The match was a physical battle down to the last minute with multiple lead changes and back and forth play.

HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth College Director of Athletics and Recreation Harry Sheehy announced today that Dartmouth will elevate its women’s rugby team from a club sport to varsity status starting with the 2015-16 academic year.
Women’s rugby will become the Big Green’s 35th varsity sport and their 17th for women, to go along with 16 for men and two coed varsities. Dartmouth will join Brown and Harvard Universities as Ivy League members sponsoring varsity women’s rugby.

March 10, 2015, Stony Brook, NY – This past Saturday the Big Green sent two equally skilled Green and White squads to the first leg of the Empire Sevens tournament in Stony Brook, New York. The Green team started off the day with a strong 19-0 victory over Stony Brook B and set the pace for the next couple of hours, continuing to a 3–1 finish in pool play.
Big Green victories continued with the White squad taking their first game 37-0 over Columbia and going undefeated in their next 3 matches, defeating Syracuse, Brockport and Stony Brook A.

Dartmouth rugby technical advisor and alum Alex Magleby is taking on an expanded role at USA rugby as part of an initiative to streamline the flow of talent to the U.S. men’s and women’s rugby teams.
As director of performance, Magleby will manage the pipelines of all four of the senior Eagles teams beginning at the age-grade level and will work with USA Rugby Academy, the Olympic Development Academy programs, and the scholastic pipeline to help produce international-caliber athletes and coaches in both XVs and sevens.

This past weekend, DRFC captain Madison Hughes led the Eagles to a top four finish at the USA 7s in Las Vegas, including a draw with perennial powerhouse South Africa, and a shutout of North American nemesis Canada. During this celebration of rugby in the desert, the DRFC competed admirably in the collegiate bracket of the Las Vegas Sevens Invitational.

Brown women’s rugby Head Coach Kathy Flores was named as USA Rugby Female Coach of the Year at the USA Rugby National Development Summit.
In the program's inaugural season at the varsity level, Flores led the formidable Brown squad to a 9-1 overall record, including a perfect 7-0 mark against Ivy League opponents. The Bears went on to defeat Dartmouth 42-5 in the Ivy Championship match.
