Cornell Over Brown in First-Round Ivy 15s Victory

Cornell racked up a decisive win on Saturday, defeating Brown 53-17 in the first round of the Ivy 15s playoff in Canton, Mass. Up 34-3 at the half, Cornell brought it to 53-3 before Brown's first try of the game made it 53-10. Brown found their groove and would score again but it was too little too late to defeat Big Red.

Dartmouth chills Norwich in development side match

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University men's rugby team lost 24-0 to Dartmouth College in a development side match in the snow on Wednesday night (April 6) at Sabine Field. Dartmouth scored at the 10th, 20th, and 28th minute of the first half. The second try was converted. Despite the snow coming down both teams displayed some solid fundamental rugby.

After their Cup championship victory in the 2016 Ariel Re Bermuda 7s, Dartmouth College paid a visit to the Beyond Rugby Bermuda program, an organization fostering positive lifestyles and academic achievement among Bermuda youth.

Big Green Coach Gavin Hickie and three players spoke to Bermuda's youth about hard work and dedication on and off the pitch and making the most of educational opportunities as a path to success in life.

1st XV Colgate at Yale Men

Yale notched a shutout win over Colgate on April 3rd in the Bulldogs' spring opener. Colgate played with a depleted squad, as their sevens players competed in the Stony Brook Sevens on Saturday, but both teams still appreciated the chance to get out for some great rugby on a blustery day in New Haven.

"It was the best Yale has played since Spring last year in fairness," head coach Greg McWilliams said. "Lads were on fire."

Flores Earns Spot in U.S. Rugby Hall of Fame Class of 2016

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Brown women's rugby head coach Kathy Flores has been selected into the U.S. Rugby Hall of Fame, as announced by the United States Rugby Foundation. Brad Andrews, Jay Berwanger, George Betzler, Steve Gray, Dan Lyle, Dave Sitton and Brian Vizard will join Flores in the class of 2016.

All eight members will be inducted on Saturday, June 4, 2016 in Philadelphia at the Hall of Fame Dinner being held in conjunction with the Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship (CRC).

Yale made the trek to Bermuda to participate in the 2016 Ariel Re Bermuda 7s. Watch the video.

Enjoying the sun, surf and military-style training course on the island paradise, Yale would make a strong showing at the Bermuda 7s, going 2-1 on Friday including a 19-7 win over Dartmouth's Seconds and a 26-14 win over the Boston Collegians. On Saturday, the Collegians would wreak revenge by knocking the Bulldogs out of Plate contention with a 12-21 win.

Dartmouth Captures Cup at 2016 Ariel Re Bermuda 7s

It was a big weekend for Ivy Rugby and especially the Big Green at the Bermuda National Sports Centre in Hamilton, Bermuda, where 5 high school and 12 college teams—including Yale and Columbia—squared off at the inaugural Ariel Re Bermuda 7s.

Dartmouth capped a weekend of excellent play by capturing the Cup on Saturday, prevailing over a scrappy Stony Brook squad 22-7 after edging Kutztown 12-10 in the semis. The second side captured the Shield with a 17-10 victory over Norwich.

Brown Falls to Providence RFC on Senior Day

On Saturday, March 12 the Brown Men's Rugby Club hosted its final match of the semester at the Berylson Family Fields before heading down to Trinidad & Tobago for an annual spring tour.

Providence led at the half 15-5 with Brown’s lone try coming from rookie year superstar wing Nick Hoynes. Working their size advantage, the Providence RFC eventually prevailed 25-5.

Dartmouth Overcomes First-Half Deficit But Falls to Navy 29-21

Navy edged Dartmouth on Saturday in a hard-fought game at Ernie Blake Field in Annapolis, MD.

A late try and penalty conversion put the Midshipmen ahead 29-21 for the win. Dartmouth, who had surged back from a 19-0 deficit to take a 21-19 lead at the 10-minute mark, could not penetrate Navy’s defense in the final minutes.
