Dartmouth (M) Shuts Out Brown 50-nil

Dartmouth returned home this weekend for their first meeting of the season with Ivy North rival Brown.  The Bears had proved to be the Big Green’s stiffest league competition in recent years, forcing a draw oat Dartmouth's Brophy Field last year. Knowing the Bears to be a tough and worthy opponent, Dartmouth went into the match looking to implement the systems they’d worked on in training and improve from the week before.  The Big Green established control early and didn’t look back on their way to a 50-0 victory in front of the home crowd.

Penn Women Defeat Yale, 67-22

In a game in which both possession and scoring were dominated by the winning side, the Penn Women's Rugby Club was able to pull out a victory on the road at Yale.  Penn wasted no time putting points on the board, scoring their first try within the first two and a half minutes of the game and never looking back - the Quakers scored four unanswered tries within the first 26 minutes of the match.Yale was able to generate some offense by putting two tries on the board before the half, but the high-powered offense of Penn proved to be too much for the Bulldogs who dropped their second match in a

Cornell came into this week's with their first division lead since 2005. After all was said and done, they managed to come through the other side while retaining possession of first place - but not without having to face off against a physical Penn team that made the game even closer than the final score of 21-12 would suggest.

Dartmouth Women Win At Cornell

The Big Green, coming into their league opener after a pre-season slate which notably lacked defensive practice, had their work cut out for them against an always-aggressive but much-improved Cornell side.   Gusty, rainy weather added to the challenge posted by a determined and organized Cornell defense.

The Big Red kicked off and took advantage of the Dartmouth’s inability to get under high balls in the wind, attacking the loose ball and quickly getting the ball out to wing to put the first points on the board.  The conversion was short and wide.
