Browns Season Ends Abruptly with Loss to Navy 27-12

The Brown Women's Rugby season came to an abrupt end Saturday with a 27-12 loss to the Naval Academy. Motivated by an enthusiastic crowd of Brown alumni and parents, Brown played inspiring defense throughout the match but struggled to maintain possession in the loose. 

Dartmouth Wins its 6th Consecutive Ivy Title

With a hat trick and 27 points from fullback Madison Hughes, Dartmouth downed Brown 32-3 at home, claiming its sixth consecutive Ivy Rugby Championship April 13, 2013 on Brophy Field.

Princeton Takes Out the Red Storm

Princeton Tigers kicked off in the first half against the Indiana Redstorm hoping for a win after their Final 4 hopes were crushed on Saturday with a loss to Army. Princeton's Lauren Rhode scored two tries in the match which ended with a Princeton shutout 17 - 0. A solid end to the competitive season for the Tigers!

Princeton wins Ivy 3rd place with 59-0 win over Penn

Following a disappointing loss to perennial powerhouse Dartmouth in the Ivy League semifinals the previous week, Princeton arrived in Philly for the Ivy 3rd place playoff game against Penn.  The Tigers spent the previous week working hard to prepare for the game

The last time the two sides had met on Penn’s home field in the fall, the game had ended in a highly contested draw. Princeton knew that Penn had also come very close to beating a very strong Brown team in their Ivy League semifinal, losing narrowly 39-33.

Lions Beat the Bulldogs

The Columbia Lions beat out the Yale Bulldogs 20-3 under the lights last Friday night at Baker on the campus of Columbia University.

Columbia scored two tries in the first half and one in the second.

Princetons Signes Confident with his Squad

Despite falling behind 17-0 in the first half, with 5 minutes to go in the contest Princeton was on the rampage with a chance to win. With the score 32-17, taking into account the way Princeton was playing, three tries to win were not out of the question. Three second half Princeton tries had cut the deficit in half, but in the end Army settled and 32-17 was the final in favor of the Lady Black Knights.

Brown Defeats Penn for a chance at the Ivy title

In a back and forth contest at Penn Park in Philadelphia where neither team could seem to put the other away, Brown defeated Penn 39 - 33 to earn a shot at the Ivy Rugby title. Brown will travel to Dartmouth this Saturday for a match against Ivy Champion Dartmouth.

Penn kicks off to Brown to start the contest and Brown gets the first shot at scoring but pushes the penalty kick wide to the left to keep the match scoreless. Brown continues to apply pressure and converts their first try. Brown 7 - Penn 0.

Dartmouth Outscores Princeton 29-12 in Ivy Semifinals

The Big Green tamed the Princeton Tigers 29-12 on Brophy Field. Dartmouth outscored Princeton 21-0 in the first half, but the visitors would get on the board twice in the second half before falling 29-12.

With a semifinal victory over Princeton, the Men in Green secure a berth and the host of the Ivy Rugby Conference Championship against Brown University, with the victor securing an automatic bid to the D1-AA National Tournament.
