Harvard Pulls Away for 24-12 Win Over Yale

After a slightly delayed KO due to some heavy Northeast traffic, the final match of the fall for either team saw Harvard face Yale in New Haven. A tightly-contested first half left the score 7-5 in the Crimson's favor at the break. Harvard pulled away in the second half with three tries. A final Yale try from Evan Brown near the end was not enough as the visitors walked off with a 24-12 victory.

About the Game

Yale plays Harvard at the Yale rugby pitch, this Friday, Nov. 20. The 1st XV kicks off at 6.45pm, while the Development XV kicks off at 8.15pm.

Columbia 17 - Penn 17

Penn plays Columbia to a 17-17 tie. 

NCWVRA Quarterfinals: Brown vs AIC

AIC will advance in the semi-finals with a 27-19 victory over Brown. Brown put their hearts out on the pitch. Beautiful game.

Ivy 15s tournament runner-up Brown takes on AIC at the National Collegiate Women’s Varsity Rugby Association (NCWVRA) quarterfinals.

“… it will be particularly exciting to see the Bears' Saskia Morgan and the Yellow Jackets' Anne-Laurence Harvey do battle,” notes Goff Rugby Report's Alex Goff.

Final score 86-10, great win for the Tigers today. Wonderful having so many of our alumni here to support!

Dartmouth 7 - Norwich 14

Fresh off their Ivy Rugby 15s Championship, Dartmouth faced fellow varsity squad Norwich in the National Collegiate Women’s Varsity Rugby Association (NCWVRA) quarterfinals. Norwich won 14-7.

The four victors will advance to the semifinals on Nov. 20 at Brown. Championship matches take place Sunday, Nov. 22.

Cornell Defeats Princeton 22-12

Cornell defeated Princeton by a score of 22-12. The Big Red spoiled Princeton's homecoming weekend scoring three consecutive trys to take a 17-5. 

1st XV kick-off is at 11:15 a.m.

Dartmouth Defeats Harvard for Ivy Championship

This past weekend, the Dartmouth Rugby Club hosted Harvard in the Ivy Championship game. Both teams had been unbeaten in their Ivy rugby match ups, thus setting the stage for a big showdown between the two teams. Both teams fought bravely with Dartmouth ending up the victors, winning by a score of 51-19.

NCWVRA Quarterfinals: Army vs Harvard

Harvard will face Army in the National Collegiate Women’s Varsity Rugby Association (NCWVRA) quarterfinals. As the higher-seed, Army is the host team in Providence, RI.

The four victors will advance to the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 20 at Brown University. The championship and 3rd place matches will occur on Sunday, Nov. 22 in Providence, R.I.

Dartmouth Wins Ivy Championship

It was a tale of two halves as Brown took a 12-0 lead into the half in what was described as a fierce wind. The match changed as Dartmouth took the wind into the second half and after tying the match 12-12 near the 60 minute mark of the match, scored with two minutes left to go to win 19-12.

Audrey Perez ’17 broke free for the Ivy League Championship-winning try. Dartmouth converted its extra point and held on to the lead to secure the 19-12 victory and its first Ivy League title in its debut season as a varsity program.

Yale 21 - Cornell 13

Cornell visited Yale for a 1 p.m. match. Tries by Charlie Hill '18, Jacob Woocher '16 and Luke Thomas '16 with three conversions by Evan Brown '16 helped Yale to a 21-13 win. There has been some positive play for the Bulldogs this Fall, with Yale scoring 18 tries in their 5 league games.

A B-Side game was scheduled for 2:30 p.m. There was a parent's BBQ along with the games.
