Ivy Women 7s Final Match

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Harvard women's rugby team claimed its first Ivy 7's Championship Saturday at Rickerson Field, overpowering Brown, 17-5, in the Cup Final to cap an undefeated day at 4-0.

With the win, Harvard has qualified for the USA Rugby College 7's National Championships May 27-29 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina.

Princeton at the West Chester 7s

Tigers Take 4th at West Chester 7s

Princeton played in the inaugural West Chester 7s Tournament on April 16, coming in 4th overall.The Tigers were first in their pool, beating Kutztown, Dartmouth and eventual tourney winner AIC in pool play. 

American International College defeated Army West Point, 26-12, to win the overall title Saturday. AIC's Bulou Mataitoga was awarded the MVP trophy for the weekend.

Dartmouth Cannot Stop BYU

At Brophy Field on Saturday, April 16, BYU defeated Dartmouth 75-15 to move on to the 2016 Varsity Cup semifinal against Arkansas State.

BYU came out playing hard and racked up 34 unanswered points before a Dartmouth interception at the 38th minute resulted in a try, making the score 34-7 at the half. Big Green got within 24 before BYU raced ahead on tries by Jared Whippy, Tua Laei, Josh Anderson and Sialao Mobley.

BYU and Arkansas met in the 2012 DIA final, won by BYU 9-42.

Harvard Falls to JMU in D1AA Playoff

Harvard fell to a seasoned James Madison University squad in Harrisonburg, Va.on Saturday. Down by 22 at the half, Harvard was unable to stop JMU's offensive drive despite winning some penalties and showing control over many aspects of the game. At the final whistle it was JMU 49, Crimson 16.

JMU moves on to the quarterfinal round at Bowling Green next weekend.

Harvard Over Cornell for Ivy 15s Cup, National Playoff Berth

Harvard took care of business on Sunday, holding Cornell at bay for a 21-14 victory in the championship game of the Ivy 15s Spring Playoffs. The Crimson scored first and led for most of the game.

Dartmouth Victorious Over Penn State

Big Green pulled out the big win, defeating Penn State 30-25 in the first round of the Varsity Cup. As reported by Goff Rugby Report, Dartmouth’s powerful offensive line kept Penn State off balance and frustrated as penalties took their toll. Trailing at halftime, Penn State stayed in it but was never able to catch Big Green, who was able to capitalize on every scoring opportunity.

Harvard Edges Princeton in Ivy 15s First Round

After a tough game, Harvard edged out Princeton rugby 25-21. Princeton’s Man of the match was Nezim Mmegwa. Harvard (#1 seed) played Princeton (#4 seed) in the first round of the Ivy 15s playoffs in Canton, Mass. 

The match kicked off at 10:30 a.m., followed at 12:30 by Cornell (#2 seed) vs. Brown (#3 seed) at 12:30 p.m.

Cornell Over Brown in First-Round Ivy 15s Victory

Cornell racked up a decisive win on Saturday, defeating Brown 53-17 in the first round of the Ivy 15s playoff in Canton, Mass. Up 34-3 at the half, Cornell brought it to 53-3 before Brown's first try of the game made it 53-10. Brown found their groove and would score again but it was too little too late to defeat Big Red.

Norwich vs Dartmouth

Dartmouth chills Norwich in development side match

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University men's rugby team lost 24-0 to Dartmouth College in a development side match in the snow on Wednesday night (April 6) at Sabine Field. Dartmouth scored at the 10th, 20th, and 28th minute of the first half. The second try was converted. Despite the snow coming down both teams displayed some solid fundamental rugby.

Dartmouth Players, Coach Visit Beyond Rugby Bermuda [Video]

After their Cup championship victory in the 2016 Ariel Re Bermuda 7s, Dartmouth College paid a visit to the Beyond Rugby Bermuda program, an organization fostering positive lifestyles and academic achievement among Bermuda youth.

Big Green Coach Gavin Hickie and three players spoke to Bermuda's youth about hard work and dedication on and off the pitch and making the most of educational opportunities as a path to success in life.
