Harvard Pulls Away for 24-12 Win Over Yale
After a slightly delayed KO due to some heavy Northeast traffic, the final match of the fall for either team saw Harvard face Yale in New Haven. A tightly-contested first half left the score 7-5 in the Crimson's favor at the break. Harvard pulled away in the second half with three tries. A final Yale try from Evan Brown near the end was not enough as the visitors walked off with a 24-12 victory.
About the Game
Yale plays Harvard at the Yale rugby pitch, this Friday, Nov. 20. The 1st XV kicks off at 6.45pm, while the Development XV kicks off at 8.15pm.
This is a big battle as Harvard are one of the form teams this season, losing only one game, and scoring high points. They have recruited well, and have gained nice momentum. Harvard have already qualified for the Ivy playoffs, and Yale are currently 4 points ahead of Columbia, going into the last weekend (Columbia is playing Princeton).
There is no doubt this is a big challenge for a young Yale team, who have been steadily improving with each game this season. Of the games they have lost, they have been competitive in each, losing by only 8 points to Princeton, 3 points to Columbia and 5 points to Brown.
