Brown University Women are Set to Take on Penn State Today

If you are anywhere near Stanford University today, stop by and cheer on the Women's National Final Four contender Brown University lead by head coach Kerri Heffernan as they look to take down last year's national champion Penn State University. Brown looked strong as they shut out all takers at the Ivies scoring 143 unanswered points.

Brown Men Finish Third in the 2008 Ivies

Brown won two of three, beating Yale in round one, losing to Harvard in round two and coming back on Sunday to beat Penn ( who had beaten Princeton) for third place. What was characteristic for Brown was its commitment to the team pattern, solid defense and the inability of any of Brown’s opponents to outplay our forwards.

2008 Men's Ivies In Final Planning

The 2008 Men's Ivy League Rugby Championship tournament will be hosted by Columbia University this weekend. Dartmouth and Harvard are back strong this spring after playing in last year's final. Watch out for tournament host Columbia University, a much improved Yale side and Princeton who defeated Yale just last weekend.

The first two rounds of matches will be held on Saturday at Tibbet's Brook Park in Yonkers, NY. The final rounds will be held on Sunday at Columbia's Baker's Field Athletic Complex. After last year's Harvard victory at Brown, what will Dartmouth bring in 2008?

Brown Women Continue, Dartmouth Men Play for Pride

LBUQUERQUE, N.M. – In the USA Rugby National Guard Men’s and Women’s College Club Playoffs two teams from the Ivies took the pitch in the first round of the Division I Men’s and Women’s competition.

In the men's round of 16, No. 2 seed BYU overpowered the Ivies only men's representative, No. 15 seed Dartmouth College 48-22. Dartmouth made it to the round of 16 qualifying throught the New England Union.

The Men in Green walked onto the national stage in Albuquerque this afternoon, and to many in the American rugby community they were seen not to have a fighting chance against #2 seed BYU. But with the score tied 15-15 at the half, the Men in Green looked to have a lot more in them than many had anticipated.

The Rob Koranda Cup is awarded to the winner of the annual Princeton vs. Yale rugby match dating back to the spring of 2002. The score was not indicative of the game as Yale scored the last 3 trys and dominated the second half.

The Rob Koranda Cup will be on the line at Princeton this Saturday at 1pm at Princeton's home pitch West Windsor Fields. Princeton fully expects a huge challenge. Yale Rugby, under the leadership and coaching of Jan Pikul, has become a serious threat to both Dartmouth and Harvard for the upcoming Ivy crown.

The Rob Koranda Cup is awarded to the winner of the annual Princeton vs. Yale rugby match. Princeton vs. Yale rugby dates back to the beginnings of both Ivy League programs.
