Harvard visits Princeton, and the Tigers come out on top with a 28-15 win.
Brown women put up 101 points vs Columbia
Despite wet conditions Brown Women’s Rugby put 101 points on the visiting Columbia women at Marvel Field this past weekend.
From the first kickoff, Brown was on the move and scored their first try within 43 seconds of the opening whistle by inside center and Captain, Oksana Goretaya ’17. Columbia being very young and inexperienced could not handle the constant pressure by the Brown ruggers who seemed to be scoring at will though they put up a valiant effort. First half action saw the score at Brown 39 – Columbia 0.
Cornell men score first league win of fall
Cornell earned their first Ivy League victory this past weekend (4 Oct 2014) over Brown by a score of 23-16.
After falling to a quick 11-0 deficit, the Big Red went on to score 23 unanswered points (18 in the second half) to claim the victory. Tries were scored by Jack Tregurtha, John Schuler (2) and Andy Staiuk.
Team president Matt Byrne (second row) had this to say: “We have had a tough start to the season, injuries have hurt us, but the young guys have stepped up. We are looking forward to the rest of the season and hope to continue our success.”

Dartmouth women in first home match win 55-0 against Cornell
Soggy weather did not dampen the spirit of players and fans as Dartmouth Women (2-1) took on Cornell (2-2) in the Big Green’s first home league match of the fall.
The deteriorating weather conditions made for a slippery rugby ball, and backs from both sides struggled with handling. The Dartmouth forwards kept the team moving down Brophy Field with tough running and great ball protection in the rucks.

1st XV Yale Women at Penn Women
After a tough loss to rival Princeton last weekend, Penn bounced back to defeat the visiting Yale Bulldogs 64-0.
Both teams seemed to come out with a lot of nerves, and as a result the first few minutes saw a lot of handling mishaps. Penn settled down after their first try, and never looked back.
Dartmouth’s Hughes to captain USA in rugby sevens
CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Following the latest of the three Men’s Eagles Sevens High Performance Camps, Head Coach Mike Friday has selected the traveling squad for Gold Coast Sevens, the first stop of the 2014-15 IRB HSBC Sevens World Series.
Dartmouth College’s Madison Hughes was named captain by the coaching staff. The 21-year-old scored 98 points in three Series stops last season.
