Harvard Women defeated Princeton 55-nil

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's rugby team (6-1, 4-1 Ivy) clinched a spot in the Ivy Tournament Championship match as it defeated Princeton (3-3, 2-3 Ivy), 55-0, in the semifinal round at Mignone Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Crimson defense, as it has done all year, dominated from the opening whistle en route to its second consecutive shutout. Harvard has allowed just five points total in its previous three games.

1st XV Penn Women at Cornell Women

The Tier 2 match between Penn Women (#4) and Cornell Women (#1) has been decided without contest. Cornell 14 - Penn 0. Cornell moves on to the next round and will play the winner of the Columbia v Yale match at Harvard on Sunday November 6th.

Womens Ivy 3rd: Brown v Princeton

Brown Women and Princeton will meet up at Harvard in what turns out to be a match that was scheduled and canceled earlier in the year. The match is for 3rd place in the Ivies.

Womens Ivy 7th: Penn v Yale

Penn walked away with a win this Sunday against Yale, 46 - 17. 

 

Ivy 5th: Columbia Women v Cornell

Final score, Cornell 14 - 0 Columbia.

 

Penn Rugby wins 20-12 over Princeton

Penn (2-2) took on a tough Princeton (2-1) side this Saturday at Rickerson Field on the campus of Princeton University. Both teams were looking for their third win in the Ivies this fall. Penn added that third win with a 20-12 victory on the road.

Columbia Women 22 Over Yale 10

Columbia Women (1-3) defeated Yale (2-2) this Saturday as the Ivy Women's Rugby playoffs got underway in New Haven, CT. The final score was 22-10.

Yale finished second in the Tier 2 regular season while Columbia finished third. The winner will play against the Tier 2 #1 seed Cornell next Saturday. Both Yale and Columbia compete in Tier 2 of the Ivy Rugby Conference Women's Division. 

Harvard 22 - Princeton 5

The rain came down hard as the HRFC arrived at Princeton in an Ivy Rugby Conference 3rd Place battle. In the end, Harvard scored four trys to Princeton's one as the Crimson got their bonus point and continue to play well in the Ivies.

Strong cross winds and wet field conditions made of a forward’s game as scrums ensued quickly after kickoff. Thanks to some great kicking by Harvard's vice-captain, Robbie Waddilove, Harvard played most of the first half running crash balls inside the Princeton 22.

Columbia Plays Inspired Rugby v Dartmouth

Randall’s Island, NY- Dartmouth faced off against Columbia this weekend as Dartmouth looked to go 5-0 in the Ivy League and Columbia looked for its first win. Columbia played inspired rugby throughout the contest putting pressure all match long against the Big Green.

Columbia scored more points than anyone else in the league vs Dartmouth scoring 3 times. The boys from Hanover, it turned out, were too much for the home team winning by a score of 73-19.

Brown Seniors Win Last Match at Marvel

PROVIDENCE RI -- It was a muddy day for rugby at Marvel field on the campus of Brown University as @brownrugby defeated @cornellrugby by a score of 27-15.

Brown scored the first fifteen points of the contest as the Brunos scored 2 trys and a penalty. Scumhalf Joey Paolino slid in for the first Brown try. Pete McHugh then notched a difficult kick to make it 7. Paolino then stole a pass and dished to Nkanyiso Nzimande who zoomed past Big Red defenders and into the try zone. Brown took a 15 to nothing lead as Pete McHugh bangs the ball through the uprights after a Cornell penalty.
