2019 Men's 1st XV Fall Standings
Guidelines *
- Four team playoff on Nov 9, 2019, #1 hosts #4, #2 hosts #3
- Based on historical performances 3 of the 4 playoff places go to North, 1 playoff spot goes to South (for 2019 season)
- Numbers and seeds based on history
- Each division winner will host a home match semi-final
- Final to be played at higher seed
- Final division standings determined based on:
1st- performance in division play only
(i.e. only South v South matches and North v North matches)- Win = 4 pts
- Loss = 0 pts
- Tie = 2 pts
- Bonus Point (Try) = 1 pt for the team scoring 4 tries or more in a game
- Bonus Point (Loss) = 1 pt to the losing team if the loss is less than 7 points
Divisions
North: Brown, Dartmouth, Harvard, Yale
South: Columbia, Cornell, Penn, Princeton
Tiebreaker
In case of a Tie in the division:
- The results between the two teams will be reviewed with the team who won being determined the winner.
- Higher results in the inter-division play (South v North matches)
- Based on current system: Win = 4 pts; Loss = 0 pts; Tie = 2 pts;
- Bonus Point (Try) = 1 pt for the team scoring 4 tries or more in a game
- Bonus Point (Loss) = 1 pt to the losing team if the loss is less than 7 points
- Cumulative point differential in division matches
- Number of tries scored in division matches
- Crossover matches between divisions to potentially help determine future season playoff seeds
