Princeton Men Beat Penn in Ivy Rugby South Upset
Saturday, October 19, 2013
Coming into this week's action, the Princeton Tigers had an 0-4 record despite some solid play throughout the year. They knew they had to be on their A game with 2nd place Penn coming to town, and just from looking at the final score it's obvious that they were - the Tigers topped Penn by a score of 20-14.
It was a close match all the way. Princeton held a slim 5-0 lead going into the half, and it was tough to tell who would come out on top. The second half was comparatively an offensive explosion - both sides were able to score two tries each in the second, but not without having to deal with some physical defensive play by both teams. In the end, Princeton was able to finish on top at home.
