Yale Men: Las Vegas 7s Pools Announced
Pools were announced today for the Las Vegas 7s in two weeks. Yale gets a tough draw with Indiana, Weber State and last year’s champions Central Washington. Yale has been training for the last 3 weeks working in Payne and Whitney Gym and renting indoor field space in North Branford. As we ramp up the training sessions and narrow down the pool of players down to 12, we will be inviting New Haven Rugby to scrimmage against the pool Yale hopefuls. Yale will open on Thursday 2/9 with Weber State at 9:40am, followed by Indiana at 12:20pm. On Friday 2/10, Yale will play defending champions Central Washington at 9:20am.
The field of 32 is split into two conferences, which are divided into four pools of four. Each team will play its first two pool games on Thursday and its final pool game on Friday morning.
Once again, Brown will also be representing the IVY’s in the tournament. Brown’s opponents in Conference 2, Pool D are Stony Brook, UCLA and Longwood. The top two teams in each pool will advance to the elimination round Friday afternoon.
