Brown Defeats a Tough Roger Williams Side

Moments after the Penn match, Brown took the field to play Roger Williams University. With wins over Penn and Roger Williams, Brown completed a long, yet successful, day of rugby.

Brown showed little wear as wing Patti Ekpo ’15 ran 60 meters to stun the Hawks defense and put Brown up 5-0.  The Brown forwards continued to show patience, setting nice platforms for scrumhalf Vanessa Munoz and controlling the set pieces to feed that backs clean ball. Fourteen minutes in centers Erica Florenz and Elisha Miles ran a well-executed switch to put Elisha through untouched. Erica converted and Brown led 12-0.  Wing Allison Hojsak ’14 found the goal 28 minutes in weaving through the Hawk defense to score under the posts. Erica converted, Brown 19-0.  With no time left in the half # 8 Jessica Sawadago ’14 scored, Erica converted and Brown was up 26-0.

Ten minutes into the second half first year wing Jasmine McAdams ’16 broke 3 tackles as she sprinted 60 meters for the score, Erica converted and Brown led 33-0. Finally, fullback Elena Suglia ’15 scooped up a pass and dashed 30 meters for the score, Erica converted. Roger Williams was able to score one unconverted try.
