Dartmouth continues its winning streak with its first Ivy League match

The DWRC remained undefeated this weekend with a 69-0 victory over Columbia University. Continuing its efforts towards team integration, Dartmouth developed a dynamic offensive game that resulted in many tries, especially out wide. The Lions proved to be aggressive and strong in the rucks, using them to keep or regain possession, especially in the first half. Strong runs and offloads by forwards Taylor Johnson ’14 and Amanda Spoto ’14 created many offensive opportunities for the back line. Wing Diana Wise ’15 capitalized on these offensive opportunities, playing an exceptional scoring game and putting six tries on the board. One such try was the result of short kick by Emily Reeves '15 during a prolonged defensive try-line stand, which Wise '15 caught and ran the full length of the field to score.

Dartmouth's strong defensive scrums, which won back the ball for Dartmouth often, and an effective tackling game contained Columbia's offense and prevented Columbia from capitalizing on their short breakthroughs in the centers.
