Harvard 1st XV defeat Yale 10-6

In a match between two of America’s finest schools, Harvard came from behind to score a try 29 minutes into the second to defeat Yale 10-6. Harvard dominated territorially for the first quarter but was off target with two penalty goals.

Yale was off target on a penalty goal in the 18th minute but Eli fullback Mac Hull finally drew first blood with a kick in the 24th minute, 3-0.

Harvard went into intermission with a 5-3 lead when wing Will Peck touched down in the 40th minute.

Second Half

Yale regained the three minutes after the restart when Mac Hull hit his second penalty goal, 6-5.

Harvard’s winning try came 29 minutes into the second half when wing Brendan Hanrahan touched down in the corner, 10-6.
