The Penn Men's Rugby Club was featured in a recent article in The Daily Pennsylvanian. Staff writer Jimmy Lengyel drew heavily from the insights of coaches and members of the Penn's team for his article, titled "Is Rugby America's Next Top Sport?"

Lengyel's article mostly focuses on the viability of rugby as a top sport in the United States. On top of describing the ins and outs of rugby from a technical standpoint, Lengyel also explores the current state of collegiate rugby through interviews with members of the Penn team.

"Rugby is the next biggest thing in America," Penn's Christian Collins told Lengyel. "It's football for a younger generation... and will build up to a point where it won't surpass it but will definitely rival it." Head coach Omar Foda also gave his input as to why he thinks rugby will catch on in the U.S. "It's sort of easy to understand and see athleticism in the sport," said Foda. "It combines the quickness and subtleties of basketball and the excellence and physicality of football."

The article provides an interesting viewpoint into the future of rugby in America, not just at the collegiate level but all the way down to the youth development phase. To read Lengyel's full article, check out The Daily Pennsylvanian's website.
