Dartmouth Wins Ivy Sevens - Full scoring posted

Dartmouth defeated Harvard in the final match of the Ivy 7s Championships 41-14. The event was being hosted by The Boston Irish Wolfhounds and Harvard Rugby at the Irish Culture Center.

Brown, the Ivy reigning champion, lost their chance to repeat as Ivy Conference champs, a title they earned in the spring of 2011, after losing to Harvard on what appeared to be a match ending winning try. The referee called a forward pass and Harvard held on for a 14-12 victory.

H2H to Film at Ivy VIIs Championships

Ivy Rugby is excited to announce that H2H will be on hand at the Ivy VIIs Championships on November 5th to film the top athletes from all 8 of the Ivy League school rugby teams in attendance. H2H joins Royall Lyme and Boathouse Sports as key sponsors who will be in attendance for the second ever sevens championship event.

NE Plate: Dartmouth Women 38 - Brockport 24

The Dartmouth Women took on Brockport, the third seed from New York State, in the first round of the Womens Northeast Plate yesterday and soundly defeated the Bulldogs 38-24. The Northeast Final Four Weekend is being hosted by Dartmouth Women at Corey Ford Clubhouse.

The Northeast Final Four and Plate Division Tournaments  will be held on November 5th and 6th at the Corey Ford Rugby Clubhouse (Brophy and Battle Fields) at 9 Reservoir Road in Hanover, NH. Congratulations to all of the teams who will be competing in the Northeast Playoffs this weeekend, especially Princeton and Harvard who had to battle the elements as well as very worthy opponents yesterday.

Dartmouth Rugby Competes in Ivy 7's Championship Saturday

The 2011 Ivy Rugby 7's Championship will be held at The Irish Cultural Centre in Canton, MA, on Saturday November 5th from 9am till 3pm. National Champions Dartmouth will take on the other seven Ivy League schools in this action packed Saturday. Dartmouth will have 3 teams competing: a 1st VII looking to take home the Championship; and a 2nd and 3rd VII competing for the TIER II trophy.

A Whitewash (and Whiteout) at Yale

Yale University, New Haven, CT -- Brown University participated in a small warm-up 7’s event at Yale University to prepare the team for the Ivy 7’s Championship next weekend at the Irish Cultural Center in Canton MA. Eight teams participated in the event that was eventually cut short due to weather conditions. A winter storm hit New Haven at about noon causing a couple games to be canceled and no final to be played. Both Brown sides were able to get 3 games each.

Brown Women v. Princeton - The Rematch

After finishing #1 and #2 in the Ivies, Brown Women's Rugby squares up against Princeton in the semi-finals of the Women's Northeast Final Four next weekend. Just a few weeks back Brown claimed it's sixth consecutive Ivy Championship by defeating Princeton 24-17 at Princeton.

In what ended up being the battle of undefeateds in the final weekend of the Ivies, Brown scored the winning try with minutes remaining after Princeton had tied the match up with 10 minutes to play.

Princeton 22 - BU 0 in heavy snow

The snow didn't deter the Tigers in a hard-fought match. The Princeton Women prevailed in very snowy conditions 22-0 over Boston University. It was a nasty, snowy, windy day.  The conditions were so bad that Princeton needed to delay the start of the match for 15 minutes just to expose the lines.
