Dartmouth Women Reach Round of Eight in ACRA National Championship Tournament

The Dartmouth Women's Rugby Club finished their season with a strong showing in the 2013 ACRA National Championship Tournament. The first part of the tournament, which took place in West Point, NY, featured some of the top collegiate rugby clubs in the country.

The Big Green had a great season in Ivy Rugby Play, finishing with a 9-1 record and in second place. Their success earned them an invitation to the ACRA tournament, where they drew UConn as their first opponent. They showed the same skill and toughness that made them one of the Ivy Rugby Conference's best teams this Fall and dispatched the Huskies 45-12.

Unfortunately for Dartmouth, the second round didn't go the way they wanted it to. The Dartmouth Women played a vaunted Army squad on the second day of the tournament and despite some strong performances lost to the Black Knights, 48-5.

Despite coming out of their last match on the losing side, the Big Green had a successful season; The Dartmouth Women officially wrapped up their overall Fall 2013 schedule with a record of 10-2, a top 2 finish in the Ivy Rugby Conference, and a berth in the Round of Eight at the ACRA National Championship Tournament. The club will now begin preparations for their 7s spring schedule.
