Brown Women Hosting 35th Anniversary Celebration
The Brown Women's Rugby Football Club was founded in the winter of 1976-1977 by two male players and an interested woman. The idea was formulated after the men had seen a women's 7s tournament in Baton Rouge, LA. After numerous meetings, practices were organized and a rugby film shown...some twenty women stayed throughout that first season.
What is remarkable is how the heart of the team has remained the same from its very first players who boldly created a space for women's rugby on campus to the current players who are seeking to qualify for the National Tournament for the 7th time. BWRFC is comprised of incredible women who set high expectations for themselves both on and off the pitch.
To celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Brown Women's Rugby team, they are hosting the following events.
