Brown Second XV 15 vs. Yale Second XV 5
Brown scored one unconverted try in the first half and two in the second half to Yale's one unconverted second half try.
With the field conditions as they were, any scoring would be a surprise from the Second XV. However, the home team showed a lot of promise from a young Brown squad, outplaying the Yale team and putting number 8 Gabe Heidrich’10 over for a try in the first half for a 5-0 lead.
Brown upped the pressure, scoring twice in the second half. Flanker David Dean’11 scored to give Brown a 10-0 lead which was cut to five points as Yale scored a try but missed the conversion. As the second half wound down and Brown pressuring Yale, a ball squirted out of a Yale scrum over the goal line and Brown scrum half Taylor Peak beat Yale to the ball for a try and a Brown 15-5 lead. Yale tried to come back but could not score. The Brown defense held as the game ended on the Brown line.
