Dartmouth Women Over Princeton 84-15
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Dartmouth women’s rugby team capped its 2016 regular season with an 84-15 win at Princeton Saturday afternoon. The Big Green improved to 5-1 overall this fall with a 4-0 mark against Ivy opponents with the win.
A game that was never in doubt, Dartmouth carried a 55-0 lead into halftime and built the lead to 74 before the Tigers finally managed to notch their first points of the day in the 53rd minute.
Freshman Isabel Boettcher touched down four times on the afternoon, bringing her season total to a team-high 10, becoming the first player to reach double figures. Her 50 points are also a season high.
Fellow first-year player Frankie Sands scored three times in the game, moving into second place among her teammates with seven tries this season.
Sophomore Kat Ramage added six successful conversions on the day, bringing her season total to 19. Senior Kendall Ronzano also had a conversion late in the game, her fifth of the year.
In all, nine players scored tries in the game with freshman Mary Tobin getting her first career score in the 62nd minute as she made her debut in the game.
Freshman Casey Smerczynski not only picked up her first successful score of the season in the ninth minute, but went on to add her second in the 27th minute.
