Brown 2nd XV 44 - Dartmouth 2nd XV 0

The future looks bright for Bruno as the Brown 2nd XV rolled over the Dartmouth 2nd XV. Both sides fielded virtually 'all rookies' - playing their first match. Brown scrum half Zuleyka Marquez '15 was inspiring as a runner and as a field general. She never hesitated and her teammates responded putting Dartmouth under relentless pressure.

Wing Wu Ka Ling '14 opened the scoring minutes in with a nice burst around her opposite for  5-0 Brown lead. First year lock Lorin Smith was brilliant in her debut and got the first of her 3 try's with a brilliant burst up the middle, shedding Dartmouth tacklers to score under the posts. Scrum half Zuly Marquez scored next knifing through a disorganized Big Green defense for the scoring.

Off the ensuing kickoff Brown marched deep into Dartmouth territory. Lorin Smith took a loose ball and dragged Dartmouth defenders over the line for her second try, Erica Florenz converted and Brown led 22-0. After the break Lorin Smith notched her third score breaking outside the Dartmouth defense and going in for the score. First year Patti Ekpo was brilliant getting time in both the first side and second side match. She picked up a ball at Browns 30 yard line and outraced the entire Dartmouth defense for a score. Wing Wuki Ling got her second score of the match falling on a mishandled ball in the Dartmouth goal, Brown led 39-0. First year Jasmine Fuller '15 got the final score of the match racing around and through Dartmouth for a try and closing out a fantastic opening match for the Brown rookies.

Brown travels to Yale next Sunday to take on the Bulldogs.
