Princeton 43 - Yale 27 ... An Ivy Warmup
Yale brought the cup to this year's match after winning in New Haven last year. The Rob Koranda Cup is awarded to the winner of the annual Princeton vs. Yale rugby match dating back to the spring of 2002. The score was not indicative of the game as Yale scored the last 3 trys and dominated the second half.
We were very lucky to get by Yale 43-27. I am sure if we play again this weekend, they could turn us over. Yale has a brilliant backline that can carve up any team in the Ivies. We are staggering to New York down 5 A-side players from our main team, injuries, a wedding and even something called "Traffic School" has unfortunately claimed them. I think Yale will be very clinical against Brown and run them ragged in the backs. I think we will have a hard struggle against Penn ... we will not have the same team we had against Yale and we will really feel the loss of some of our Forwards. All the best,
